What to do during your vacation
in Corse-du-Sud?

Beach or Mountain… ?

Corsica is a mountain in the sea and offers the possibility to do all sorts of outdoor activities.

However, in the mountain as well at sea, be cautious !

Before going, be aware of the forecast since the weather is very changing. For any activity, (swimming, diving, hiking, climbing…) make sure to have the proper equipment. Just call a professionnal to get help.

The regional natural park of Corsica

The regional natural park of Corsica (two thirds of the island) whose mission is to preserve and value the natural, cultural and landscaped heritage has set up a 1500 km of on-demand trails to discover the colours and the contrasts of the island in all seasons.

Seaside

You may enjoy idleness and various nautical activities such as diving, windsurfing and jet skiing whilst always taking note of the warning signs because certain places are dangerous and a lot of beaches are without lifeguards.

Underwater fishing: only in apnea ! You have to be 16 or over and submit a declaration to the maritime affairs. Always indicate your presence with a float. The maritime affairs will provide you with a list of the protected places and species, such as groupers, slipper lobsters and lobsters. Sea urchin fishing is prohibited from the 1st of april to the 30th November as it is their breeding season.

Personal watercraft : you need a licence to drive a boat, a scooter, a sea motorcycle above 6 hp even for renting. You have to use the reserved channels to 300 m of the shore. Just contact the maritime affairs for any information.

Riverside

It is enjoyable to swim in the natural pools but always be aware of the possibility of rising water levels due to the storms in the mountains.

Respect the EDF (french electricity company) signaling regarding the prohibitions below the dams.

Mountainside

The corsican mountain is beautiful and welcoming with wonderful landscapes. However you have to be careful. The weather may change very quickly in the same day, especially towards the end of the afternoon. Check directly with profesionnals and take warm and waterproof clothing. Do not go alone and warn somebody of your itinerary and of your return time.

Watch for fire hazards. Prefectoral decrees may occasionnally deny access to some of the routes and trails.
